XDD is a company focused on the understanding, development and application of remedial strategies using our Xpert Solutions™ process. The Xpert Solutions™ methodology allows for a thorough analysis and determination of the most appropriate site remedy by drawing on XDD's expertise in a wide range of remediation technologies as well as our sound understanding of risk assessment and state and federal regulatory requirements. There is no "cookie cutter" approach to all sites; we believe that the appropriate remedial strategy must address each client's needs, the applicable regulatory requirements and site-specific factors such as geology, hydrogeology and contaminant distribution.
XDD performs focused feasibility studies that assess possible remedial tactics and allow our clients to fully understand the potential risks and rewards of each strategy. In addition, XDD determines the cost benefit of performing supplemental field investigations, treatability studies or field pilot testing. Xpert Solutions™ are then designed that enable our clients to control expenditures based on annual cash flow and total project cost requirements. In many cases, more than one remediation technology is required as part of the optimal remedial strategy. Integrated strategies can vary from simple source excavation and disposal with monitored natural attenuation for the groundwater plume to innovative applications of chemical oxidation coupled with a Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) for treating a migrating plume. XDD is experienced in the optimization of existing treatment systems and remedial strategies, as well as the development of alternative remediation strategies for sites where once-prescribed remedies may no longer be effective or desirable, (as at many CERCLA sites under a Record of Decision). XDD has been instrumental in numerous alternate technology demonstrations and the subsequent development and negotiation of ROD amendments.
