XDD PRESENTS AT NEWMOA'S ISCO WORKSHOP
March 16, 2011
XDD Senior Project Manager Brant Smith, Ph.D., P.E., presented at a series of In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) Workshops sponsored by the Northeast Waste Management Officials' Association (NEWMOA). The workshops -- which were held in Westford, MA on March 15, and in Danielson, CT on March 16 -- provided attendees with an overview of ISCO processes and its applications in bedrock and unconsolidated site conditions.
At each of these workshops, XDD's Brant Smith presented on "ISCO System Design," which mapped out the necessary elements to shepherd a successful ISCO project from bench-scale to pilot test to full-scale application. Topics covered by Brant's presentation include technology selection (e.g., key characteristics of various oxidants), injection strategies (and the importance of establishing contact), and monitoring objectives (with a discussion of soil sampling strategies).
If you were unable to attend NEWMOA's ISCO workshops, or if you are interested in learning about ISCO options that may be applicable to your specific site concerns, then you are encouraged to contact Brant Smith directly at (800) 486-3575 or via email (smith@xdd-llc.com) for more information.
